May Mann Jennings was president of the Florida Federation of Women's Clubs (FFWC) from 1914 to 1917. She used her political skills to fight for causes such as women's suffrage, environmental protection and prohibition.

In 1917, Jennings and her fellow Florida suffragists lobbied politicians to pass a suffrage bill. However, they were unsuccessful.

The creation of Royal Palm State Park in 1916 was one of her major accomplishments as president of the FFWC. Jennings used her network of women's club members to raise funds for park maintenance and frequently lobbied state politicians for more funding for the park. Royal Palm State Park later became the nucleus of Everglades National Park. Everglades National Park was established in 1947 at the urging of Jennings, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Ruth Bryan Owen and other Florida women.

After her term as FFWC president, Jennings continued to dedicate her life to the betterment of Florida. She served as legislative chair for the Florida State League of Women Voters, campaigned for the creation of the Florida Forestry Board, and advocated for the establishment of the State Library of Florida.
