On April 19 and 20, Mitsui Chairman Tatsuo Yasunaga participated in the B7 Tokyo Summit, a business summit organized by the Japanese Business Federation, Keidanren. The summit brought together representatives of business associations from the G7 countries.　

Kicking off the event, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio gave the opening speech, where he touched on key issues to be discussed at the G7 Hiroshima Summit and stressed the importance of obtaining perspectives of the business community. Prime Minister Kishida emphasized two key areas of focus – safeguarding the free and open international order based on the rule of law, and the need to increase engagement with the Global South.

The summit participants then engaged in a robust exchange of views on the themes of "Achieving Sustainable Economic Growth", "Strengthening unity as G7", and "Promoting Cooperation with the Global South”. Chairman Yasunaga also gave a speech about the importance of cooperation with the Global South in solving global challenges such as climate change and the need to build a free and open international order.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to solving important global issues for the international community together, including ensuring economic security and achieving carbon neutrality, while further strengthening the unity of the G7. With common consensus, the participants also made a joint recommendation to Prime Minister Kishida for the G7 Hiroshima summit to be held in May.
