Once upon a time, in a lush green meadow, there lived a little bee named Lucy. She was a cheerful and hardworking bee, who loved to collect nectar. Lucy was always busy buzzing around the fields and collecting sweet nectar, but her favourite thing in the world was honey.
Lucy adored honey so much that she would often daydream about it while collecting nectar. She longed for the day when she could taste it straight from the hive. Every day, she would fly over to the honeycombs, but her mother would always stop her.
"Lucy, honey is not for you," her mother would say sternly. "It's for the queen bee and the other bees in the hive."
Lucy was disappointed but did not give up. She knew she had to find a way to taste the sweet, golden honey. One day she came across a grasshopper named Kuzya and a caterpillar named Capa, who were discussing how they could make honey.
Lucy was intrigued by their conversation and decided to listen in. Kuzya said, "If we mix our saliva with the nectar, we can turn it into honey. I once read about it in a book."
Capa was curious and asked, "But how can we get the nectar?"
Kuzya replied excitedly, "I saw a beehive nearby. Let's go there and taste the honey!"
Lucy was so excited by this idea that she decided to follow them, without thinking about the consequences. As she approached the hive, she could smell the sweet honey, and her heart fluttered with excitement. When she got too close, she was suddenly confronted by the guard bees.
"What are you doing here?" they asked.
Lucy, trying to be friendly, said, "I didn't mean to disturb you. I was just curious about the honey."
The guard bees were not impressed and quickly chased Lucy, Kuzya and Capa away.
Feeling scared and embarrassed, Lucy flew back to her hive. When she arrived, her mother scolded her for not listening to her advice.
"Lucy, I told you not to go near the honeycombs. You could have been hurt. Always listen to your parents," said her mother.
Lucy felt ashamed of herself and realised the importance of listening to her parents. Even though she could not taste honey, she knew that she had her mother's love, and that was more precious than any sweet nectar.
From that day on, Lucy became a more responsible bee, and always listened to her mother. She still enjoyed her nectar-collecting, but for different reasons. She now knew that it had to be done for the survival of her hive.
As for Kuzya and Capa, they learned that it was better to stick to what they knew and leave the honey-making to the bees. They also realised that they didn't need to steal honey to taste it, as sometimes, if you were lucky, a small drop would fall from a passing bee's body, and that was enough to get a taste.
So the moral of the story is that it's important to listen to your parents, and to remember that sometimes, the things we wish for aren't always meant for us.
